FOUR NEW SONGS FOR 'THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST'
Julian and Richard have written 4 new comedy songs for the production of 'The Importance of Being Earnest' at the English Theatre of Hamburg. The songs, in the style of 1950s comedy songs will be performed to a ukulele accompaniment performed by the cast. The play opens on February 21 and runs until April 28 2013.

The Railway Children is to be presented in the USA for the first time at the Menlo Atherton High School in California in February 2011.
WORKSHOP OF 'TWANG!!'Julian and Richard's rewrite of the new version of Lionel Bart's infamous Twang!! was presented as a reading at Arts Ed after a two week development workshop. The cast included Ben Goddard (Sunset Boulevard) as Robin Hood, Kaisa Hummerlund as Maid Marion, Sarah lark as Delphina and Oliver Brenin as Much with Teddy Kempner, Peter Straker, and Alisdair Harvey as the villains, The Sherriff of Nottingham, Prince John and Sir Guy of Gisbourne.
RAILWAY CHILDREN PRESENTED AT DRURY LANE
(10 April 2010) Mercury Musical Developments presented a 1 hour reading of The Railway Children as part of their The Works Season sponsored by the Noel Coward Foundation. Original Sevenoaks Playhouse cast members Susannah Fellows (Mother) and Neil Ditt (The Engine Driver/Dr Forrest) were joined by Arts Ed cast members Jenilee Ralwins (Bobby) and chorus with West End star Paul Bentley as the Old Gentleman and children from Sylvia Young Theatre School in the presentation of Act One to an industry audience.

RAILWAY CHILDREN to have reading at Drury Lane
(24 March 2010) THE RAILWAY CHILDREN will have a one-off reading at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane on the 6th April to an invited industry audience as part of Mercury Musical Developments The Works season supported by the Noel Coward Foundation.

RAILWAY CHILDREN nominated for awards(1 Feb 2010) Congratulations to the Morecambe Warblers on being nominated for 3 Noda North West Awards for their production of The Railway Children. The nominations are in the 'Best Actor'. 'Best Producer' and 'Best Musical' categories.
TERMINAL FOUR PLAY is online now!(8 Jan 2010) Terminal Four Play is finally released. One of the final Urban Scrawl Projects to be released as the project draws to a close, Julian and Richard's 10 minute podcast musical about suicide bomber, security and sex can now be heard on the Urban Scrawl Website (scroll down to 'Heathrow Terminal Four'). The show features Dougal Irvine and Gemma Sutton and is directed by Lisa Spirling.
RICHARD goes 'LEGALLY BLONDE'(8 Jan 2010) Oh My God You Guys! Richard is the Assistant Musical Director for London's newest musical hit which stars Sheridan Smith and Duncan James at the Savoy Theatre. On New Year's Eve Richard made his conducting debut in the West End when he picked up the baton for the first show.
RAILWAY CHILDREN to open in New Zealand
(8 Jan 2010) Centrestage Theatre are to present the show from 27 February to 13 March 2010 at the Centrestage Theatre, Orewa, Auckland, New Zealand. This is the first Australasian production. Click here to got the companies website.

JULIAN directs 'TWO PIANOS, FOUR HANDS' in Vienna
(15 Sept 2009) Julian has just opened a production of the Canadian play '2 Pianos, 4 Hands' in Vienna at the English Theatre. This new production stars Steven Worbey and Kevin Farrell, otherwise known as the piano comedy duo Katzenjammer. Performances are already selling out after the production received excellent reviews. TERMINAL FOUR PLAY TO APPEAR AT LATITUDE FESTIVAL
(4 July 2009) Terminal Four Play is a 10 minute rap and r'n'b musical about security
staff at Terminal Four written as part of the Theatre503/Theatrevoice Urban Scrawl project will appear live onstage as part of Latitude Festival. Theatre 503 have chosen 3 of the 53 pieces written for the project to appear as part of Urban Sprawl, where the city moves to the countryside. We are honoured to have been chosen and will appear alongside a new operatic piece by Mark Ravenhill. Featuring suspected suicide bombers, sex and
guest appearance from George W Bush (recorded, not live!), Terminal Four Play will play on the 15th and 16th July in the Theatre Space at Latitude. As it has not yet appeared online this will be its premiere performance.
RAILWAY CHILDREN AT ARTS ED(1 June 2009) Leading London Musical Theatre School presents The Railway Children from the 10 - 13 June at the Studio Theatre. This is a great chance to see a cast of tomorrow's West End performers in the show.
JULIAN DIRECTS BEN TRAVERS' THE BED BEFORE YESTERDAYA new production of The Bed Before Yesterday, directed by Julian is playing at the Mill at Sonning from the 4 June to 11 July, starring Susan Penhaligon, Brian Deacon, Rosie Ashe, Jess Conrad, Janie Booth, Joel Sams, Stacey Cadman and Joe Ferrera. The comedy deals with a middle-aged woman's sexual awakening and Julian has changed the setting of the play from 1930 to 1966, the era of Mary Quant, mini-skirts and Swinging London.

RAILWAY CHILDREN TO PLAY IN BERMUDAThe first production of 'The Railway Children' outside the UK is scheduled to play in Bermuda. Bermuda Music and Dramatic Society will present the show at Daylesford Theatre, Hamilton from the 19-28 March 2009.

JULIAN AND RICHARD TO BRING 'I DO! I DO!' TO VIENNA
Julian will direct and Richard will be the musical director for a new production of 'I Do! i Do!' in Vienna in Spring 2009. Written by Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt, the show charts the marriage of a couple over 40 years, and uniquely for a Broadway Musical has only two characters, originally played by Robert Preston and Mary Martin. This new production will run in English from 30 March to 9 May at Vienna's English Theatre.

Richard is currently working in Bermuda on a new production of THE FULL MONTY, the Broadway musical version of the popular British film.

RAILWAY CHILDREN PLAYS IN PADSTOWThe Railway Children is currently playing at The Little Theatre, Padstow, Cornwall (29 July - 30 August 2008). It is produced by the Padstow Kernow Players and the Little Theatre seats just 60 people.
RAILWAY CHILDREN ORIGINAL CAST ALBUM RELEASED MONDAY 28 JULY
The Railway Children Original Cast Album will be available in shops from Monday 28 July 2008. Starring Susannah Fellows, Paul Henry, Nicholas Smith, Emily Bull, Karen Clegg, Brendan Cull, Neil Ditt, Maria Holley and Claire Taylor the CD is released on the TER label and will be available from Dress Circle, Amazon, HMV, Zavvi and all good record shops.
Susannah Fellows is currently appearing as Glinda in The Wizard of Oz at the South Bank, Paul Hnery is on tour in Run For Your Wife, Emily Bull is currently playing Frenchy in Grease at the Piccadily Theatre, Brendan Cull is appearing in the National Tour of West Side Story and Neil Ditt is playiong Perchick in the National Tour of Fiddler On The Roof.
The Cast album can be ordered now from JAY Records.
The album will also be released on iTunes at a later date.
SONGS CHOSEN FOR AMERICAN NEW WORKS FESTIVAL
Two songs from Comrade Rockstar have been chosen for the New Works Festival in Delaware USA, produced by Clear Space Productions.
Each year, Clear Space's Festival includes a concert of songs from new musicals by emerging writers.
The two songs chosen are Smalliville Colorado and Don't Go. Smallville Colorado was the song Carl Au chose when he won the Sondheim Student Performer of the year - Don't Go will get it's first public performance at the Festival. 10 songs are chosen in total from the dozens submitted from all over the world.
The concert this year is to be held on 13 November. If you are in Delaware then go along. You can find more information here.

THE RAILWAY CHILDREN performed in Chatham
The first youth theatre production of THE RAILWAY CHILDREN took place at the end of May at the Kings Theatre in Chatham. A cast of over 50 young people aged from 5 – 13 gave a spirited performance.

COMRADE ROCKSTAR in workshop
Arts Educational school in London produced a one-hour workshop of material from our new musical COMRADE ROCKSTAR. The musical is about the life and death of Dean Reed against the backdrop of the collapse of the Soviet Union.
